Admission

I. Post primary education study:

Decoration Designer - study session 3.5 years, curriculum volume 210 EKAP, school-based study;

Graphic Designer - study session 3.5 years, curriculum volume 210 EKAP, school-based study;

3D Designer - study session 3.5 years, curriculum volume 210 EKAP, school-based study.

 

Academic year will start on 1 September every year. Studying takes place from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 4:15PM. 

Documents will be accepted from 1 April to 24 June 2019 on SAIS platform (http://www.sais.ee). Exceptionally from 20 to 21 June 2019 at the main building of Tartu Art School (Eha 41). Portfolios in physical form can be brought to the main building of Tartu Art School from 1 April to 24 June. 

Exams and interviews will take place on 26-28 June 2019. 

 

Mandatory documents for applying: 

  • Application (electronically on www.sais.ee);

  • Portfolio;

  • Cover letter: Why do I want to study at Tartu Art School? (Can be sent in addition to application on SAIS);

  • Digital photo 3x4 cm (Can be sent in addition to application on SAIS);

  • Written consent from a parent or a legal guardian (in case the student is a minor).

 

II. Secondary education based study:

 

Stylist - study session 2.5 years, curriculum volume 150 EKAP, school-based study;

Graphic Designer - study session 2.5 years, curriculum volume 150 EKAP, school-based study;

3D Designer - study session 2.5 years, curriculum volume 150 EKAP, school-based study.

 

Academic year will start on 1 September every year. Study days will usually last for three days per week. From Monday to Wednesday (9 AM - 4:15 PM) or from Thursday to Saturday (9 AM - 4:15 or 6 PM) depending on a speciality. Some study periods might last a whole week.

Documents will be accepted from 1 April to 24 June 2019 on SAIS platform (http://www.sais.ee). Exceptionally from 20 to 21 June 2019 at the main building of Tartu Art School (Eha 41). Portfolios in physical form can be brought to the main building of Tartu Art School from 1 April to 24 June.

III. Continuing studies based on previous art or design education (or respective skills): 

Designer continuing studies - study session 1 year, curriculum volume 60 EKAP, school-based study

The admission for this program starts in January 2020 and study session starts on 1 March 2020. Studying takes places from Monday to Wednesday from 9 AM to 4:15 PM.

  • Cover letter: In what direction would I like to evolve as a designer? (Can be sent in addition to application on SAIS)

IV. Apprenticeship study program

Study program is workplace based. On secondary education based level or post elementary education level, people can study on 3D Designer, Decoration Designer, Stylist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator programs when they have an already existing company. If needed, new program will be created for employers as well.
